On May 16, a MOU signing ceremony was jointly held by Australia-based La Trobe University and CELAP. La Trobe University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor John Rosenberg and CELAP’s vice president Jiang Haishan attended the ceremony and signed the memorandum.

 

Vice President Jiang introduced CELAP’s functional orientation, program features and international exchanges. Jiang also recalled the history of the exchanges between La Trobe University and CELAP. He expressed gratitude to La Trobe University for rendering support to CELAP’s international programs and expressed his wishes that the MOU would mark a new starting point for further cooperation and exchanges between the two parties.

 

Deputy Vice-chancellor Rosenberg echoed Jiang’s wishes and was upbeat of the broad prospects for cooperation between the two parities. Professor Nick Bisley also briefed La Trobe University’s Asian Center.

 

After the ceremony, Prof. Nick Bisley delivered a lecture entitled “Australia’s Asia Policy” for the 3rd session of the Seminar on Deepening Reform and Opening-up.
