VP Wang Jinding Attends the Closing Ceremony of Zhi-Xing China Fellowships

Vice President Wang Jinding attended the Closing Ceremony of Zhi-Xing China Fellowships at CELAP and delivered a speech on November 13th. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Qian Yicheng, Vice President of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) of Ministry of Education, and Mr. Thomas Furgurson, Senior Director of Development at Eisenhower Fellowships.

Prof. Wang said, China and US are the most influential countries, and the bilateral relation is among the most important ones. Apart from political mutual trust and economic cooperation, people-to-people exchange has become the third pillar of the new type of relationship between major countries. People-to-people exchange programs like Zhi-Xing China Fellowship are bound to boost the mutual understanding between China and US and to promote healthy development of China-US relations.

As an outcome of the 5th talk on US-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange, Zhi-Xing China Fellowships brings 10 to 15 mid-career U.S. leaders to China each fall for intensive cultural immersion and group sessions. The first ten U.S. scholars of the program arrived on October 17th for a four-week program, and CELAP is the program’s last stop of three days.
