President Xi Jinping stressed that people around the world have a shared future. Facing COVID-19 epidemic, the international community must strengthen confidence, join hands and work together to resolve the problem. Since the outbreak of epidemic, CELAP firmly implements President Xi Jinping’s instructions on epidemic prevention and economic and social development. The academy adjusted its international communication measures and actively participated in the international cooperation of prevention and control of COVID-19, making contribution to the community with a shared future for mankind.

“We conquer difficulties together through thick and thin”

During the spring festival, when China was experiencing the most difficult time fighting against COVID-19, CELAP received letters of encouragement from international partners. One of the letters is from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). In the letter, UTAR firmly believes China will overcome the difficulty with the leadership of the government. “We conquer difficulties together through thick and thin even if we are thousands of miles away.” Meanwhile, Northwestern Institute of Management, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration also sent a letter. Ms. Evgeniya Chernyavskaya, Director of China Cooperation Center, said in the letter: “We saw China’s extraordinary efforts to contain the coronavirus, the courage of medical staff and great contribution between the Chinese government and people.”

“We very much appreciate your generous masks”

As an ancient Chinese saying goes, “A partnership forged with the right approach defies geographical distance; it is thicker than glue and stronger than metal and stone.” When China’s situation was moving in a positive situation, the epidemic situation abroad was going worse. CELAP never forget the professors who have contributed to China’s leadership development. We reached out to CELAP’s foreign adjunct professors and learn about their local conditions. CELAP sent over 1400 facial masks and other equipments to 7 adjunct professors worldwide.

“It’s the most famous demonstration of international solidarity”

As a response to CELAP Newsletter, Benoit Julius from Seychelles, once a participant of CELAP’s African program, said in his letter, “I send you our big congratulations to your great efforts put in the health security of the People. Your success is remarkable especially under the guidance of President Xi Jinping. We do thank the Chinese Government for the equipment to be used against the Covid-19 that you send us. It’s the most famous demonstration of international solidarity.”As a national leadership training institution, CELAP faculty and staff will continue to push forward leadership training and strengthen international exchange cooperation.
