On February 22, 2023, Mr. Chua Teng Hoe, Consul-General of Singapore in Shanghai, and Ms. Yow Shuting, Consul (Political), visited CELAP. On behalf of the Academy, Vice President Zheng Jinzhou received Mr. Chua Teng Hoe and his entourage.

Extending a warm welcome to Mr. Chua, Prof. Zheng Jinzhou expounded on CELAP's practices in studying, publicizing, and implementing the guidelines of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as it seeks to develop as a national hub for the teaching, training, research, and publicity of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He noted that the theory concerning China's path to modernization marks a significant theoretical innovation of the 20th National Congress of the CPC. As China’s contribution to the world on how to explore a better social system, the theory provides an alternative path for developing countries to achieve modernization. Since China has adjusted its COVID policy, CELAP is planning to renew cultural exchanges and interconnection with Singaporean institutions. The Academy hopes to strengthen cooperation with its Singaporean counterparts for common development, through leader’s mutual visits and joint course development.

Mr. Chua Teng Hoe expressed congratulations on the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and spoke highly of the training outcome of the Academy and its important role in the exchanges between China and Singapore. He said that the Consulate-General of Singapore in Shanghai will ramp up communication with CELAP, with the aim to build a broader platform that drives the people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the countries.

Mr. Chua Teng Hoe and his entourage visited the classroom dedicated to teaching Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Other people attending the activity include Mr. Liu Genfa, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Exchange and Program Development.
